Appointment

The President and Board of Directors of COK Co-operative Credit Union are pleased to announce the appointment of:

Mr. Michael Earl Steele, as Deputy General Manager
- Marketing and Business Development
effective April 14, 2008.

A professional management and marketing consultant with over 15 years of experience in brand development and management, marketing and sales management, Mr. Steele has shaped strategy, marketing and managerial direction for corporate entities in both
Jamaica and North America.

He has demonstrated his expertise with effect, as the former General Manager of Remittances (USA operations) of the National Commercial Bank, setting strategic direction for its operations in the USA. He also served as General Manager of VMBS Overseas (canada) Inc., Vice President Marketing, Blue Cross of Jamaica and General Manager, Petroleum Company of Jamaica (PETCOM), shaping product development, marketing, management and financial policy.

Mr. Steele's role in developing creative strategies for garnering savings and remittances from farm workers in Canada to benefit Jamaican families and the economy, while at VMBS, is enviable.

As COK's Deputy General Manager (Marketing), Mr. Steele is expected to apply his dynamism, creativity, vast experience and expertise in shaping and managing new and innovative marketing strategies between COK and its prime stakeholders, including it's over 213,000 members.

Mr. Steele holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Ohio University, USA, and a B.Sc. (Hons.) Degree in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies (UWI) and has been a lecturer in Marketing at the UWI- Mona Campus, for many years.
